Hello Alburtis Families,
As we board students onto their busses, dismiss them to your cars for pick up, or escort them to walk home on the final day of our first week, Team Alburtis reflects on all of the incredible successes and new positive friendships and relationships that were built in our school in just a few short days! We held our 'cool tools' lessons, held our 1st Eagle assembly, went to our first: art, music, gym, library class, explored our Alburtis Maker Space, read many great books, explored math manipulatives and so much more!
As you can appreciate, the first few days of school do bring a few challenges and changes.
Team Alburtis is aware that lunch has been one of these said challenges. The first few days of school, teachers, staff and I took time during lunch to share rules, expectations and 'cool tools'. Some of our students shared that they felt 'rushed' during their assigned lunch time as a result of this review of expectations. As a Team we have prioritized lunch and the importance of all students having the time that they need to eat a balanced, healthy lunch. Please know that all students will be provided additional time to eat their lunch should they need it. We will continue to have an 'all hands on deck' approach to lunch and ensure that we all aid and assist your children in building a smooth, seamless lunch routine.
Team Alburtis would like to wish you all a wonderful long weekend and we are excited to be back together!
We are better together!
-Dr. Cheryl Scalzo, Principal
